I enjoyed reading this first blog post by Abby:
The media content linked was insightful and engaging. Hearing a first-hand story about the barriers people faced to seeking higher education. As a white male living in Canada and seeking a post-secondary degree, I understand it is incredibly important for myself and others to recognize the privilege I have to be in my position. In recognizing this privilege, I also feel compelled to advocate for those facing barriers to accessing higher education. Through the whole idea of open and distributed earning, I think it’s important to identify and support policies for free or affordable education wherever possible, including promoting open educational resources.
