I enjoyed reading this first blog post by Emma Williamson:
One thing that stood out in particular was what Emma said on Networked Pedagogy, and how it is evident within this course. She highlights the variety of geographical locations we all may be in, from students and instructors, and how we all have access to communicate and learn from one another as a result of collaboration via online methodologies. This includes your website, our blog/response posts, and the ways we connect with our pod groups virtually.
One thing I heard recently stood out to me regarding connecting with people online. Oftentimes in school, we fall into a certain group as a result of our past experiences, the degree we are pursuing, and similar interests. In courses like these, I get an opportunity to connect with people I might not regularly in person. It exposes me to new perspectives from diverse perspectives, helping me build up tools, networks, and knowledges of how to navigate things in our growing, interconnected world of complex issues.
